The funeral service for Janan Helen Gulbrandson of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Timothy Reker will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.

Janan died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 85 years old.

Janan was born March 7, 1928, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Martin and Margaret (LaBarr) Kilcoyne. She was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea and attended St. Theodore Catholic grade school and graduated from Albert Lea High School. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Janan married Robert S. Gulbrandson on Feb. 12, 1949. Janan enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and gardening. She also had a love for cats and living. Most important in her life was her love for her family.

Janan is survived by her husband, Robert S. Gulbrandson; three children, Lynn Gulbrandson and his wife, Kristie, Gary Gulbrandson and his wife, Mary and Pam Copeland and her husband, Robert; four grandchildren, Kyle Gulbrandson and his wife, Kaici, and their children Bryna and Teagan, Andy Gulbrandson, Brian Copeland and his wife, Alicia, and Kelsey Copeland; sister-in-law, Betty Gulbrandson; brother-in-law, Jerry Gulbrandson and family; and many good friends including the Holte family.

Janan is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Margaret Kilcoyne; brothers and sisters.
