Alleged wedding crasher pleads not guilty
An Austin man who allegedly threatened to shoot at wedding guests at the Hormel Historic Home in early October pleaded not guilty to two felonies Thursday.
Hassan Beih Mabu-Fardina, 29, pleaded guilty to terroristic threats and fourth-degree assault of a correctional officer in Mower County District Court.
According to Police Chief Brian Krueger, guests of the wedding told police Mabu-Fardina had approached them around 9 p.m. saying he wanted to fight.
“You want me to shoot you? Bang bang,” he allegedly said to the guests.
According to Krueger, the guests couldn’t tell if the man had a gun, because his hands were in his pockets. Guests also said he was slurring his words and appeared intoxicated, Krueger said.
Police did not find a gun on Mabu-Fardina when they arrested him.
Mabu-Fardina requested a speedy trial when he appeared in court Thursday. His next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
