Displays charm visitors at HHH
More than 500 guests attended “Home for the Holidays” on Nov. 10, 11 and 12 at the Hormel Historic Home, and the people have spoken: A Touch of Charm from Blooming Prairie garnered the most votes for the People’s Choice Award.
A traveling trophy will be on display at A Touch of Charm until next year. Owner Leanne Hanson created “Traditions Past and Present” in the Hormel Historic Home Dining Room with a focus on natural materials such as wheat sheaves and pheasant feathers. The tablescape, placed on the HHH’s early 1900s dining table, featured two small pine trees wrapped in burlap and bird nest accents at each place.
Second place went to “Sleigh Ride Warm Up” in the Atrium by private collector Mary Ann Wolesky and the Hardy Geranium.
Third place went to “O Holy Night” in the Master Bedroom by the Blue Belle Inn Bed & Breakfast & Tea House from St. Ansgar.
Fourth place went to “Rustic Elegance” in the Library by Sterling Main Street.
Fifth place went to “Kiss Me at Midnight” in the Living Room by Hy-Vee Floral.
Rooms were also decorated by Belles & Beaus; The Bridal Theatre of St. Ansgar; Becky Cobb, private collector; Disabled American Veterans; Mower County Historical Society; Oooh La La Purse Boutique; The Philomathian; St. Ansgar Greenhouse and Floral Shop; Brady Schmidt, private collector; South Central Athlete; Anita Ulwelling and Becky Renchin, private collectors; Pam Retterath and Mary Mueller, private collectors; Four Daughters Winery & Vineyard, and Younkers.
