Tonic Sol-fa to perform Friday; Paramount welcoming back group

The Emmy Award-winning a cappella trio Tonic Sol-fa will appear in concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Paramount Theatre on Friday.

The event is sponsored by the Austin Area Commission for the Arts.

Tonic Sol-fa, the trio of lead vocalist Shaun Johnson, tenor and vocal percussionist Greg Bannwarth and bass Jared Dove, have been described as “a vocal kaleidoscope … unique to the human voice.”

The members, who formed the group at St. John’s University at Collegeville, have released 10 CDs and have sold over 2 million  albums.

The box office opens at 6 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance at the ArtWorks Center (you can order online at www.austinareaarts.org) and $25 at the door. Student tickets are $15.
