Stolen items, drugs land prison time

A LeRoy man accused of having stolen items and drugs has been sent to prison.

Steven John Holm, 30, was sentenced Friday to 17 months in prison for fifth-degree drug possession and receiving stolen property, both felonies. Another fifth-degree drug charge was dismissed. Holm has received credit for time served since he was arrested in January.

According to the court complaint, deputies found $1,000 in tools reportedly stolen from a construction site and two $600 burial vaults stolen from a LeRoy funeral home during their search at the 500 block of LeRoy’s North Main Street on Jan. 16. They also found items that tested positive for methamphetamine, more than 100 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, grow lights, potting soil and plastic cups filled with soil, the complaint added. Holm claimed deputies illegally searched his property, and said he had many items because he is a reputable eBay dealer who has received awards for his online business.
