Scout leader honored at Hormel Home

Dr. Phil Minerich receives his Legacy Scouter Award.

Dr. Phil Minerich was awarded the Legacy Scouter Award at a luncheon at the Hormel Historic Home by Duane Olson on behalf of the Southern Trails District.

Minerich was active in his pack, and then the troop when his son, Ben, was in the Scouts program. Minerich became active in the Southern Trails District and later as district chairman with the former district executive, Pat Kunkel. Scouting was always important in the Minerich family as his three brothers were Scouts, his mother was a den mom and his dad was the cubmaster in Cleveland, Ohio.

Minerich currently serves as the vice president of research and development at Hormel Foods Corp. The luncheon was a recognition and fundraiser organized by Paula Nuessmeier, Southern Trails district executive.
