Learning about dental health

As you might guess, the number-one dental problem among preschoolers is tooth decay.

One out of ten two-year-olds already have one or more cavities. By age three, 28 percent of children have one or more cavities. By age five, nearly 50 percent of children have one or more cavities.

The best way to protect your child’s teeth is to teach them good dental habits. With the proper coaching they’ll quickly adopt good oral hygiene as a part of their daily routine.

Pacelli preschoolers were visited by a dental hygienist from Dr. Elrod, Dr. Green, and Dr. Heimer DDS during dental health week.

They learned how to properly brush their teeth, what foods are healthy or unhealthy for our teeth, and were also provided with new toothbrushes, floss, and timers to promote those healthy dental habits at home.

If you are interested in learning more about Pacelli preschool, please visit our website at www.pacellischools.org, email admin@pacellischools.org, or call 507-437-3278 anytime during regular school hours.  Preschool registration for next year is now open.  Classes for 3, 4, and 5 year olds are filling up quickly!
