Hot Meals on Wheels Board of Directors

The Hot Meals on Wheels Board of Directors would like to express sincere appreciation for all the generosity and support given to our non-profit organization throughout 2019. The incredibly heartwarming acts of kindness and community support is truly advancing the cause and making life a little bit easier for our seniors, so they can enjoy their golden years well-nourished living independently with dignity.

Thank you to the 102 volunteers who shared their heartfelt gifts of compassion, time and mileage, delivering 18,955 meals in 2019. They continue to deliver more than just a meal, we know they are providing daily nutrition along with welcomed social interaction and friendship. It’s a rewarding experience visiting and sharing kindness during multiple meal deliveries one hour per week and we appreciate your dedication and commitment.

Thank you to the wonderful kitchen staff at Mayo Health System (Morrison Food Service) and Sacred Heart Care Center for their donation of the hot meal aluminum foil containers, reduced cost of the meal and their professional preparation of nutritious meals for each specific dietary requirements. Your time and talents are providing great nourishment. We appreciate the amazing job you do each day and we value your partnership and expertise.

We are excited to announce that, new in 2019, a special donation made it possible for volunteers to deliver two shelf stable Hormel Compleats as snow day meals, so our seniors would still have a meal to eat on days when it is too dangerous for the volunteers to make deliveries. We look forward to delivering more shelf stable meals with future donations, so that each individual has food to heat and eat on all snow days, holidays, nights and weekends.
