Pride of Mower program looks for participants to honor at fair

The county fair may still be a ways off, but some programs are looking to honor citizens early.

Organizers are looking for participation in the eighth annual “Pride of Mower” program, which will take place during the 2015 annual Mower County Fair, Aug. 11 through Aug. 16.

The “Pride of Mower” program recognizes and honors Mower County Citizens who have excelled in certain areas of achievement. The category winners that will receive recognition are: Livestock Hall of Fame, Outstanding Senior Volunteer, Century Farm Owners, Farm Family of the Year, Outstanding Service Organization and Fair-person of the Year.

There are a number of excellent candidates for these titles in Mower County. The Mower County Fair coordinates this program and winners are selected through various organizations that are familiar with the candidates’ accomplishments.

To request an application for a person or organization worthy of this recognition please contact the Mower County Fair office either in person, by emailing info@mowercountyfair, or by phone at (507) 433-1868.

The efforts and accomplishments of these individuals and organizations all help to inspire and raise the quality of lives in many ways. This program is sponsored by Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Austin.
