Humane Society will hold annual shot clinic in Austin this Saturday
Mower County Humane Society volunteers want to spread the word about their annual shot clinic at Austin Vet Clinic, especially since MCHS volunteer Kelly Rush recently lost a friendly feline mom to distemper.
According to Rush, volunteers recently received a pregnant cat with distemper, who gave birth to six kittens on April 18 while in volunteer care.
The mother and three kittens have died thus far from the disease, a fast-acting virus which affects a cat’s stomach and causes dehydration among other symptoms.
The annual shot clinic will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4. All shots, including distemper and rabies, will be offered at reduced prices, and MCHS volunteers will be on hand to help.
