Autumn brings some favorite destinations

As fall weather comes upon us, our travel plans continue with some of our favorite destinations.

The Old Log Theater near Excelsior has been one of these trips. Having recently been sold, the new owners of the Old Log have completed some major projects, with new sound systems, lighting, staging and new productions.

We are excited to make plans for their newest joyous musical comedy, “Cowgirls.”

Traditionally the Old Log always played to drama and comedy, so adding music and staging will be new. We are looking forward to attending. There is also a noon lunch menu that has changed with several choices of entrées. How does carrot cake sound for dessert?

We will make a short stop in Excelsior at their mini-mall prior to the show.

We are hoping to see some beautiful fall leaves along the way as only Minnesota knows how to show them.

Sign-up is until Oct. 4 with a call to our travel number 507-438-3946 or 507-433-9391. Travel office hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Mower County Center, using the south entrance. Newsletters are available there in our message box under the entry way overhang.

•Oct. 3: Our Stillwater fall one-day trip with a city trolley tour, luncheon cruise and plenty of free time to spend in this beautiful city on the Mississippi River. Fee is due by Sept. 16.

•Oct. 13-19: The Nashville fall trip is in its final stages of planning with the possibility of adding two to four more people. A full schedule is available and those already signed up will be hearing from us soon with travel information of that tour.

•Nov. 13-16: Our thoughts already turn to the holidays to make plans. Our Branson Christmas trip is always a special time with new shows and destinations included. Our first night will be in Kansas City, followed by the next two nights in Branson, Mo., with five shows included. We have space available.

•Dec. 11: “Fiddler on the Roof” at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater is quickly generating interest. Call us to be on that list.

•Dec. 31-Jan. 1, 2014: New Years Eve. We have a fun gala evening during this overnight trip to The Fanny Hill Dinner Theater in Eau Claire, Wis. Sure beats staying home and watching that ball drop at midnight. Spend it with friends and greet the new year.

Winter will be a real highlight for us in 2014 as we plan a nine-day tour to the Panama Canal. We have excellent lodging and so much to show you about the Panama Canal and its area. A full schedule is available with a phone call or stop by our office.
