Austin Police arrested a 22-year old man Thursday night after he allegedly assaulted a woman at knifepoint.

According to the police report, the suspect, an ex-boyfriend of the victim, left scratches on the 19-year-old woman’s back and hand. However, she denied medical attention.

The suspect was also reportedly in violation of a harassment restraining order.

Police arrested the man at 12th Street and Fifth Avenue NW shortly after 3 p.m.

The suspect is held in the Mower County jail until a formal complaint is filed. He could face charges for second-degree assault, domestic assault and violating a restraining order.
