Orphange Museum to hold second annual online auction

The Minnesota State Public School Orphanage Museum Board is having its 2nd annual Online Auction to raise funds to help support the Orphanage Museum’s day-to-day operations.

The auction opened on May 1 and will close at 7 p.m. on May 31. All the proceeds will be donated to the museum. There will be no buyer’s premium for this auction.

Items up for bid, including Cabela’s camping gear, a Rock Ola Juke Box, many vintage items, sachets hand-knit by a former State Schooler, certificates for stays at the Holiday Inn and Suites Owatonna and the AmericInn Hotel and Suite Owatonna and River View Campgrounds. New items will continue to be added throughout the month of May.

The museum advises that it’s the responsibility of bidders to inspect items. To make an appointment, please call 507-213-9584.

There’s still time to donate. If anyone is interested in donating items, the museum will be accepting items until 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. To make a donation, contact Anne Peterson at 507-774-7369. Donators are asked that all items are in good condition, but most of all, as clean as possible. Clothing and TVs will not be accepted. Donations are eligible for a tax-deductible receipt.
