Lake Mills, Iowa woman denies selling meth

A Lake Mills woman pleaded not guilty in Freeborn County District Court on Friday to selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant in July in Albert Lea.

Angela Marie Enderson, 39, is charged with one count of first-degree sale of a controlled substance tied to alleged sales July 23 and 24.

According to court documents, the combined weight from both sales was about 10.4 grams. The sales took place at Enderson’s apartment at that time on Front Street in Albert Lea.

In a separate case, Enderson faces one count of fifth-degree meth possession after she reportedly assisted the South Central Drug Investigative Unit as a confidential informant during a controlled buy on Dec. 11.

Using funds from the drug task force, Enderson agreed to purchase 28.5 grams of meth from another person at a truck stop in Albert Lea, according to court records. She had reportedly been searched by a detective before the purchase and was found to have no cash or drugs on her, but when she was searched after the sale a shard of a white crystalline substance fell out of her clothing.

The shard field tested positive as meth and weighed 1.9 grams. The meth that Enderson had purchased weighed 26.9 grams.

Enderson was previously convicted in July 2006 of a second-degree sale of a controlled substance.

If she is convicted of the new first-degree sales charge, she faces a mandatory minimum of four years in prison.
