An Austin construction company has been recognized for its work to renovate the Austin National Guard Armory.

The Joseph Compan was recognized by the State of Minnesota for the Best of B3 (Building, Benchmarks, and Beyond) program at its first annual “Best of B3 Recognition” event in Minneapolis on Sept. 23.

The award singled out Joseph along with project designers for surpassing energy efficiency and sustainability goals on the $3.9 million dollar renovation of the Austin National Guard Armory, completed this past year.

“We are proud to be taking a leadership role in promoting sustainability and being a part of the project team that far exceeded the State’s B3 energy status,” Joseph President Carter Wagner said in a press release.

The state of Minnesota is leading the nation in requiring 70 percent more energy-efficient buildings in an effort to have construction carbon neutral by the year 2030.
