Ladies Floral Club to host fundraiser

The Ladies Floral Club yet again is hosting another fundraiser for the Austin Public Library.

The Ladies Floral Club will host guest speaker Tim Tiernes from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. Tim is the Director of the St. John’s Bible and has been a part of the project from its conception.

Tim will share how a project of this size and significance came to be, the trials, lessons learned and result of such an endeavor during his 1 p.m. speech at the Hormel Historic Home on Tuesday, May 15.

“We have such a gift in this community to actually own the Heritage Edition of the St. John’s Bible,” said Ann Hokanson, Director of the Austin Public Library. “These bibles are truly a work of art and once you hear the story behind them, it makes them that much more special.”

The event is open to the entire community. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Hormel Home or Austin Public Library. Five volumes of the Heritage Edition St. John’s Bible will be on display. Light refreshments will follow the presentation.
