Guitar strike, injuries bring charge

An argument allegedly left one man with a bloody face last week, and led to an Austin woman being charged with two felonies.

Robyn Kay Halverson, 56, was charged with felony domestic assault and felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after she allegedly hit a man in the head with an acoustic guitar on Aug. 24. According to the court complaint, the victim wouldn’t let Halverson watch a 2-year-old child because Halverson had been drinking. The court complaint states Halverson threatened to smash the television with the guitar and then swung the guitar and hit the victim in the head. Police arrived and saw blood on the victim’s head, eye and cheek. Police took the guitar from the residence for evidence.

Halverson is set for a Sept. 6 court appearance.
