Gwendolyn Josephine Jordan, 76, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at her residence in Belen, New Mexico, after a lengthy illness.

Gwen was born on Sept. 24, 1939, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Emil and Inez Doggett. She attended country school and graduated from St. Augustine High School in Austin. She married William Jordan on Dec. 31, 1956. To this union was born four children, Scott, Daniel, Emilyn and Lauri.

Gwen was the “rock” of the family. She was beautiful, intelligent, fun-filled with love for her children. She was always there to help out whenever one of the children needed her. She was there, whether they needed a listening ear or a loving hand. She would spend as much time as it would take to resolve something or share ideas that might help.

Gwen was a woman of Faith and shared that faith with her children, teaching them through the years. She sang to her children and prayed with them. During her lifetime, Gwen suffered many illnesses. She will be remembered as a spirited woman of strength and courage, undying love for her children, her parents and siblings, carrying her cross bravely through everything she endured.

Gwen was a beautiful child of God, and we will all miss her. Her life’s journey is over and she is now safe in God’s arms.

Gwen is survived by her children, Scott (Tracy) Jordan, Daniel Jordan, Emilyn Gardiner (partner Darrell), and Lauri; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Nelson Commers, Janeth Ranum; brother, Ron Doggett; best friend, Virginia Helms; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Inez Doggett; sister, Shirley Patterson; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services were held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
