 Historical society presentation

John Haymond, from the Historical Society has another great presentation at the center for October.

“This month I’ll do a talk on Minnesota’s history before it was a U.S. territory. This presentation will be on Minnesota’s pre-territorial history, 1800-1850, when the European presence in this area changed from French to American., Haymond said. “We’ll talk about the Dakota, Ojibwa and Winnebago Indians, as well as explorers, fur traders, voyageurs, missionaries and soldiers, all of whom created the history while Minnesota was still the northwestern frontier.”

Join us at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Please either stop by the front desk or call 507-433-2370 to let us know your coming.

Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and a sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday we are having tator tot hotdish for only $2. You are always welcome at the center.
