Shriners recognized for contributions

At the September meeting of the Austin Shrine Club & Oriental Band, Rose West, auxiliary chairperson of the Shrine Hospital for Children-Twin Cities recognized members for their donations to the children who are served at the Hospital. From April to September 2015 about $1,500 was collected from the four pop can trailers located in Austin. The money from these cans is a project for the Shrine Auxiliary. Another donation will be made in December.

In addition, Ms. West presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Brad Stout, President of the Shrine Club along with Charles and

Evelyn Van House for their efforts in collecting the tab for pop cans and getting them to the Hospital. Also recognized were Mary and Neil Hanson for the donations of blankets and the knit hats that have been made by Jeff Boyne from the NationalWeather Service in LaCrosse.

Each year the Shrine Club also takes a trailer load of toys to the Hospital. This project has been chaired by Bonnie and Bill Newell.
