First Drive NW will be closed for construction through the end of the week.

City Engineer Jon Erichson said sewer and water utilities are being expanded for the Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin as it begins its expansion.

The street should be open again by next week, but there will be traffic limitations in the area once MCHS-Austin begins its own construction. Erichson said the road will shrink to two lanes during that time. He did not say when that will begin.
