Mower County exceeds 200 cases of COVID-19

The Minnesota Department of Health on Tuesday reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, bringing the county’s total to 206 since March 19.

According to Mower County Health and Human Service Division Manager Pam Kellogg, cases have ranged in ages from three months to late 80s.

“We have looked at the addresses of our cases and approximately half of the cases live with other positive cases, so we are seeing spread within households,” she said.

Statewide, an additional 652 cases were reported Tuesday, bringing state totals to 21,960 since March 6. Of those, 15,523 are no longer in isolation.

The MDH also reported 18 new deaths, bringing the state’s total to 899 since March 21. Of those, 732 have been residents of long-term or assisted living facilities and 842 have been ages 60 and older.
