Austin woman rescued from Mill Pond

A 42-year-old Austin woman was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after being rescued from Mill Pond.

According to Austin Police Chief David McKichan, the Austin Police Department, Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance responded to Mill Pond at about 11:38 a.m. on Tuesday on a report that a woman was seen struggling in the water. 

A 22-year-old male from Austin saw the woman before first responders arrived and was able to get her to shore.

The woman was treated on scene by Mayo Ambulance and transported to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin. McKichan said she was alert and talking at the time of transport.
