Austin residents injured in Sunday motorcycle accident

Two Austin residents sustained non-life threatening injuries after their motorcycle went into a ditch Sunday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was headed north on Highway 30 at about 4:21 p.m. on Sunday when it ran off the road and entered the right ditch at Fillmore County Road 11 in Pilot Mound Township, Fillmore County.

The Chatfield Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The motorcycle’s passenger, Christy Sue Hagg, 53, was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, Michael John Haag, 45, also sustained non-life threatening injuries, but was not transported to the hospital.

Alcohol was determined not to be a factor in the accident.

The report indicates that neither riders were wearing helmets.
