Masks to the People

When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down Rose’s Nails, owner Rose Le changed her daily routine. Instead of working on nails, she’s been working on surgical masks.
Rose and many of her family members have organized a group effort to keep masks coming to the public and keep everyone safe. Together, they’ve produced well over 2,000 masks as they’ve made donations to Mayo Clinic, nursing homes, neighbors, and families that live as far away as Texas and Canada.

Rose and her family have roots in Vietnam, but they’ve been very positive about giving back to their community, especially after Rose’s father has been on dialysis for 14 years.
“Mayo supported my family and I wanted to help them out too,” Rose said. “I want to get masks to the people around here and in nursing homes.”
The Le family masks come in various colors from pink to blue and everything in between. Last Friday, Rose was wearing a personalized Republican Party mask to show her support for President Donald Trump.
Lynn Le, who moved from Vietnam to America two years ago, said that she’s working on the masks to help get things back to normal.
“I want everything to be good so I can go back to work,” Lynn said. “I don’t want to stay at home.”
