Adeline B. Wachlin, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Adeline Bertha Wuertz was born May 26, 1932, in rural Waltham, Minnesota, the daughter of Alvin and Verona (Bode) Wuertz. She grew up in rural Waltham and graduated from Austin High School in 1949. Adeline then attended teacher training at Austin Junior College. On June 14, 1951, she married Paul Wachlin at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Adeline worked as a CNA first at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin and then at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota, for 35 years. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies Aid and played the organ for many years. Adeline was an excellent seamstress. She treasured her time spent on bus trips with her husband and especially loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Mark Wachlin of Brownsdale, Minnesota; three daughters, Muriel (David) Polzin of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, Julie (Mark) Endorf of Ham Lake, Minnesota, and Susan (Jim) Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Larry) Stoterau of Orange, California; sister-in-law, Alpha Wuertz of Longmont, Colorado; and brother-in-law, Marcus Simantel of Seaside, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Verona Wuertz; husband, Paul Wachlin, in 2013; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lynda Wachlin; brother, Donald Wuertz; and sister, Marilyn Simantel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham with the Rev. Jesse Krusemark officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Waltham. Memorials can be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church, Waltham.
