Myron Nels Sorensen, 89, of Dexter, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Myron was born March 21, 1930, in Mower County, Minnesota, the son of Nels and Anna (Fredericksen) Sorensen. On March 12, 1952, he entered into the United States Army and spent two years in the Army Medical Corps. Myron was honorably discharged on March 11, 1954. On July 31, 1965, he married Delores Schear at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkton, Minnesota. In 1973, the couple moved to Dexter, where Myron farmed. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkton and Adams American Legion Post 146. Myron loved farming, his tractors, and

enjoyed reading. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Sorensen of Dexter; brothers, Robert (Beverly) Sorensen of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and Art (Donna) Sorensen of Waltham, Minnesota; sister, Erene (Gaylord) Tapp of Brownsdale, Minnesota; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Anna Sorensen; four sisters, Marie, Christine, Joyce and Ruth; and five brothers, Neil, Floyd, Fred, Donald and Roger.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, Minnesota, with Pastor Liz Erickson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by Adams American Legion Post 146. Interment will be held at a later date in Union Cemetery in Bixby, Minnesota. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
