The Austin Bruins opened their season with a 4-3 win over the Odessa Jackalopes in the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Wednesday.

Dante Sherriff and Lane Krenzen scored second period goals to put the Bruins (1-0 overall) up 3-1 in the second period and Carson Riddle scored an insurance goal to put Austin up 4-2 in the third.

Kyle McClellan stopped 29 of the 32 shots he saw in net for Austin.
