Things were looking pretty good for the Austin Bruins Saturday night as they looked to even up their NAHL Central Division championship series with the Minot Minotauros.

But an early two-goal lead wasn’t enough as Minot held the Bruins scoreless the rest of the game, winning in overtime and putting Austin into a 2-0 hole. Now the Bruins must take two on the road to get back home.

In just under a minute’s time in the first Austin looked to be well on its way to a weekend split. Evan Cholak scored at the 8:52 mark followed by Levi Stauber’s goal at 9:19.

However, with just one second remaining in the period, Minot’s David Raisanen got the Minotauros on the board.

Minot’s Taylor Lantz tied the game at the 1:39 mark of the third period and Raisanene wasted little time getting his second goal of the night with the game-winner at 2:38 in the extra period.

The series now moves to Minot for games three and four Friday and Saturday. A win by Minot on either night will send the Bruins into the offseason.
