Elaine Eleanor Kloeckner, 83, of Adams, Minnesota, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018.

Elaine was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Rose Creek, Minnesota, to Jacob and Eleanor (Fruth) Majerus. She graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1952. After high school, Elaine worked as a housekeeper for Jay Hormel. While employed, she would travel with the Hormels to their winter home in California. She married Ambrose “Amby” Kloeckner on Nov. 7, 1953, at St. Peter Catholic Church. They moved to the farm in 1958, where she was a homemaker, raised their seven children and helped Amby farm the family farm. Elaine enjoyed gardening, traveling, volunteering, watching sports, doing word finds and collecting bells.

She was a member of CCW, Catholic United Financial, American Legion Auxiliary, Nursing Home Auxiliary, and an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ambrose; brother, Nicholas Majerus; and sister, Sr. Arlene Majerus.

Elaine is survived by her children, Linda Streiff, Boone, Iowa, Joseph (Heidi) Kloeckner, Glenwood, Iowa, Arlene (Randy) Burch, Wildwood, Missouri, Mary Kloeckner, Young America, Minnesota, Mark (Deb) Kloeckner, Tucson, Arizona, John (Barb) Kloeckner, Adams, and Karen (Don) Fasbender, Adams; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Arnold (Ilene) Majerus, Burnsville, Minnesota, Ralph (Barb) Majerus, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and James (Susan) Majerus, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy (Mike) Dvorsik, Myerstown, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Julaine Wencl, Owatonna, Minnesota, and Sherry Majerus, St. Claire Shores, Michigan; nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minnesota, with Father Martin Schaefer officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Adams Funeral Home.
