The Hayfield boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season when it topped Mabel-Canton (4-6 overall) 69-58 in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (1-9 overall) hit six three-pointers in the second half as Ryan Risius hit three from downtown in the second half and Ethan Slaathaug, who scored 14 points, hit two second half three-pointers.

“It’s good to finally get over the hump and get a win,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.
