An 18-year-old Austin man was arrested Friday after the car in which he was a passenger was stopped for a traffic violation.

Antoine Davis was charged in Mower County District court with a gross misdemeanor for carrying a BB gun in public and a petty misdemeanor for possessing a small amount of marijuana.

A female driver was pulled over by officers for failing to dim her lights just before 10 p.m. on Friday, April 14 on the 500 block of Eighth Street Northeast.

According to the report, officers allege they could smell marijuana in the car. Davis, a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly found to have a small bag of marijuana and a BB gun in this right jeans’ pocket.

He is being held in the Mower County Jail and faces possible charges of carrying a weapon in public and drug possession. The driver was not charged.
