Luke was taken into custody during a drug bust on Nov. 23 in Austin, while Aleman was arrested during a traffic stop early Friday on the 100 block of 12th Street Southeast, near the intersection with First Place. About half a gram of methamphetamine was found in a pocket on the passenger side door of the car, next to the passenger seat in which Aleman was sitting.

The pair is suspected of shooting 9 mm handguns in the parking lot of Mandolin Place. No one was injured in the incident but a car and building siding were damaged by shots. Two vehicles were seen fleeing the scene. Multiple casings were found in the parking lots. Krueger did not want to elaborate on why the shootings might have taken place.

He said it remains part of an active investigation and interviews related to the incident continue.

Luke already faces felony charges filed in connection with the bust on Nov. 23. He is charged with first-degree drug possession of more than 100 grams of cocaine or meth; first-degree aggravated controlled substance crime for possessing a firearm; and being a violent felon in possession of a firearm.

Krueger said the pair could face a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Krueger said the arrests came as a result of good police work and he was “glad to have these two individuals off the streets.”
