The woman who pulled a gun on another woman serving civil papers pleaded not guilty on Thursday in Mower County Court.

Patricia Ann Andersen, 63, of Rose Creek was charged with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon on April 1.

According to court records, a woman who worked for an Albert Lea process serving company was serving a summons and complaint on Andersen.

She knocked on the door and heard someone yell at barking dogs, but no one answered the door. The woman returned to her car and took notes. When she looked up, she saw Andersen come from behind the house toward her.

Andersen told her to leave and the woman said she would post the paperwork to the door, which she did before returning to her car.

According to court records, Andersen came back out of the house pointing a .357 revolver at the worker and said something the woman did not understand. The worker told Mower County deputies she feared for her life and believed Andersen may shoot her.

Deputies met with the worker before Anderson was eventually taken into custody. She then told deputies the gun was in the house, along with an adult relative.

Andersen’s pre-trial is scheduled for Aug. 12 and the jury trial is scheduled for Aug. 22.
