Volleyball: Lyle-Pacelli swept by FBA

The No. 5 seeded Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team lost to No. 1 ranked Faribault Bethlehem Academy (21-7 overall) by scores of 25-12, 25-9, 25-13 in the Section 1A West semifinals in Mayo Civic Center Saturday.

It was the first time that LP (15-11 overall) had played in a second round playoff match since 2005.

“The girls played really well against a tough team in an even tougher environment,” LP head coach Lauren Cost said. “Our seniors had a great year and will be missed both as leaders and players.”

LP senior Sarah Holtz finishes with more than 1,100 career kills and senior setter Courtney Walter had more than 1,800 career assists.
