ACT opening 51st season with ‘Calendar Girls’

Albert Lea Community Theatre (ACT) will open its 51st season with “Calendar Girls” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, Oct. 8-17.

Written by Tim Firth, “Calendar Girls” a story of friendship, ingenuity and triumph. The comedy is based on an inspiring true story from England and adapted from the Golden Globe-nominated motion picture.

“Calendar Girls,” will be performed at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in downtown Albert Lea on Oct. 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Shows start at 7:30 p.m., with the Sunday, Oct. 11 matinee, at 2 p.m.

ACT has pledged 10 percent of the ticket proceeds from “Calendar Girls” will benefit the Cancer Center at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
