“It’s starting to turn around a bit. I’m starting to makes some putts that I wasn’t making earlier in the season and my driver is straightening out. It’s going pretty good,” Snee said. “I love this course. A lot of the guys coming in here don’t realize how tight it is and on some of the tee shots you have to shape your shot and they don’t know how to do that. It’s home field advantage.”

Austin’s Jace Greenman shot a season’s best score of 88 and Ryan Kempen shot a season’s best score of 90. Ethan Morey shot a 94 as he said Monday’s round was a learning experience for him.

“I learned a lot of things out there today. The biggest thing I need to work on is getting off the tee,” Morey said. “Other than that, my putting is fine, but I’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Austin head coach Matt Raso was glad to see his team finish ahead of JM, but he wants the Packers to show some more improvement.

“I know they’re capable of better scores,” Raso said. “We had perfect conditions today. It’s still not our best day and on a good day I think this group can improve by 20 strokes.”
