Alma M. Jendersee, 94, of Austin, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Sacred Heart Care Center, Austin.

Alma Matilda Moke was born June 7, 1920, in Douglas County, South Dakota, to Herman and Amalia (Goldammer) Moke. She attended school in South Dakota before her marriage to William Jendersee on Feb. 25, 1938, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corsica, South Dakota. The couple raised four sons. Alma and William lived in Albert Lea, Spring Valley, Elkton, the farm in Dexter and in Nicholville. Following William’s death, Alma moved to Austin in 2000. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, cooking, and fishing. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkton, Alma was active in the circle, choir, and Sunday school program. She enjoyed serving on the altar guild for many years.

Survivors include her sons: Melvin (Gloria) Jendersee of Burnsville, Minnesota, Harvard Jendersee of Rochester, Minnesota, and Duane (Shirley) Jendersee of Austin; 14 grandchildren; her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Clarence (Margene) Moke of Parkston, South Dakota; sisters-in-law: Irene Moke of Mitchell, South Dakota, Elaine Moke of Parkston, South Dakota, Pearl Nigebauer and Sally Jendersee, both of Parkston, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Amalia Moke; her husband William Jendersee in 1986; her son Donald Jendersee in 2001; daughter-in-law Peggy Jendersee; three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Minnie, Alvina, and Selma; three brothers: Otto, Norbert, and Leonard.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkton, Minnesota, with Pastor Liz Erickson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Elkton. Memorials can be directed to St. John’s Church or to the Jendersee family in memory of Alma. Services prearranged and conducted by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.
