Earlier this month, several Mower County residents competed in the 20th annual Mower County Free Fair Talent Contest and three are representing Mower County at the Minnesota State Fair.

In the pre-teen division, Magnolia Sullivan performed a dance to the song “Good Golly Miss Molly.” Evan Koehler played the guitar and sang his way to the teen division win with an original song called “Up To My Neck.” Joy Riley played piano and sang “Raindrops” to earn a trip to the state fair in the open division. All three won cash prizes, trophies, and two admission tickets to the Minnesota State Fair, which runs through Labor Day, Sept. 1.

Mower County residents are encouraged to bring their musical, dance, magic or any other talent to next year’s Mower County Fair Talent Contest and maybe they will be next to represent Mower County at the Minnesota State Fair.
