Duren will be showing photographs of his adventures at the Ruby Rupner Auditorium at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center on Thursday.

At 9:30 a.m., there will be a summer senior special where Duren will discuss wetlands, and how vital they are to the wildlife community. A variety of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and insects all call wetlands their home. Go inside the world of wetlands in southeastern Minnesota with Duren. After the program, grab a camera and join him for an access vehicle tour to explore the Nature Center’s wetlands.

At 1:30 p.m., there will be a family/children’s program where Duren will discuss North America and the great diversity of wildlife. From bighorn sheep in the Rocky Mountains to bison in the Great Plains, beauty stretches from coast to coast. Join Duren as he presents a selection of his favorite photographs and tells you the story behind the images. After the class, go for a hike with the family to see if there are any of the animals he showed during the program. Please RSVP.

Thursday Nature Play will also take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring family and enjoy free activities of pond scooping, butterfly netting and monarch tagging, and kayaking with Scott Hana.
