At least four people were arrested in Brownsdale Saturday after Mower County Sheriff’s deputies uncovered thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen tools, guns and drugs.

Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said deputies were still figuring out the overall worth of stolen goods at a property at the 100 block of Cedar Avenue in Brownsdale.

According to Amazi, deputies were tipped off Friday by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department in Iowa, which had trail camera footage of a car owned by a suspected burglar who lived in Brownsdale.

Deputies raided the property Saturday and took at least four people into custody.

Amazi said stolen tools, guns and drugs were found at the house, in a shed on the property, and in several cars.

“Just about every vehicle had stolen property as well,” Amazi said.

The suspected burglars are in Mower County jail awaiting charges.

The arrests come after a string of burglaries in the region over the past few months where tools were taken from homes, garages and RVs.
