The Austin Post 1216 VFW baseball team opened its season with a 3-2 win over Owatonna in Marcusen Park Wednesday.

Austin (1-0 overall) won the game in walk-off fashion as Nate Conner drove in the winning run with a two-out, RBI single in the seventh inning. Owatonna walked Daniel Bollingberg to get to Conner.

Jake Reinartz struck out six without allowing an earned run for Austin and Trevor Stevens picked up the win in relief.
