The Austin Bruins made a step in getting out of their slump when they beat the Minnesota Magicians 5-1 in Ritchfield, Minn. Friday.

The Bruins (20-10-1 overall) had lost four of its previous five games.

Sam Kauppila scored a pair of goals in the win for Austin and Nick Leher had 30 saves.
