ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — Authorities say two of five children who were trapped in a car submerged in an icy suburban Minneapolis pond have died.

The State Patrol says 5-year-old Zenavia Rennie died Thursday night. Family attorney Rick Petry says 7-year-old Alarious Coleman-Guerrido also died Thursday night.

The driver, the mother of three of the children, made it out of the car unharmed after it sank in the St. Louis Park pond early Thursday.

Petry says the other children remain hospitalized in critical condition. The mother, Marion Guerrido, was not hospitalized.

State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says the first child was pulled from the water about 25 minutes after the car veered off a highway ramp and into the pond. The last child who was removed had been in the water for 45 minutes.
