MINNEAPOLIS — Several hundred people gathered in downtown Minneapolis to protest George Zimmerman’s Florida acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman’s exoneration in the fatal shooting of the unarmed teenager is stirring protests around the country, including one at the Hennepin County Government Center Monday evening.

The peaceful demonstration in Minneapolis was a contrast to violence and vandalism during a protest in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw District. Thirteen people were arrested there.
