Lyle-Pacelli’s Jordan Hart is playing with the big boys this summer and he’s starting to fit right in.

Hart, who will be a junior in the fall, went 3-for-4 and played left field for the Austin Greyhounds as they beat the Northfield Knights (5-3 overall) 11-1 in seven innings in Marcusen Park Friday.

“It’s a lot faster and it’s a lot of fun to be around these guys. They’ve been teaching me a lot,” Hart said. “I’m just staying back on the ball and hitting it in, then good things will happen.”

The Hounds (3-2 overall) ended the game when they scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh. Matt Raso had the game clinching hit when he launched a three-run double into left field.

Austin finished with 11 hits in the win.

“We’ve got a pretty good roster this year,” Hounds manager John Frein said. “We’re happy to have some new young talent. Everyone’s contributing and I feel better about our team this year.”

The game was tied 1-1 until the Hounds took the lead for good in the fifth when Matt Cano and Tyler Leopold each knocked in runs.

“Usually the pitchers have the advantage early on. We had good at-bats and guys weren’t chasing,” Frein said.
