An Austin woman charged for assaulting a man with an acoustic guitar last August has been convicted in Mower County Court.

Robyn Kay Halverson, 56, was sentenced Thursday to five year’s supervised probation for felony domestic assault. Another charge for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

According to the court complaint, the victim wouldn’t let Halverson watch a 2-year-old child after Halverson had been drinking on Aug. 24. The court complaint states Halverson threatened to smash the TV with the guitar and then swung the guitar and hit the victim in the head. Police arrived and saw blood on the victim’s head, eye and cheek, and they took the guitar from the home for evidence.
