The Mower County board is moving a little closer to building a new grandstand.

The board will hear updates on the bids to build a new structure at its 1 p.m. meeting Tuesday. The Austin Fire Department demolished the old grandstand in a controlled burn Feb. 2 after a structural engineer deemed it unsafe for use.

The board will also hold a public hearing on a citizen petition on a hog buying station and feedlot in Udolpho Township.
