Phyllis J. Hopfe, 85, of Austin, Minn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2013, after a long illness.

Phyllis was born July 19, 1927, in Osage, Iowa, to Victor and Rose (Hiner) Jorgensen. She resided in Osage until after high school graduation, when she moved to Austin. Phyllis was married to Robert (Bob) Hopfe in 1950 and they had two daughters, Cynthia and Sherri.

Phyllis worked at the 1st National Bank for many years and also did bookkeeping at the Austin Eagles Club. She took pride in her small home of nearly 60 years, planting flowers and more tomatoes than she could ever give away. Phyllis was witty and will be remembered for her fun spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Cindy, grandson Justin and brother Robert. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sherri; granddaughter, Carli; nieces, nephew, cousins, sisters, brother-in-law and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service on Friday morning. Interment will be at a later date.
