MEDFORD — The Hayfield boys basketball team closed out its regular season with an 87-60 win over Medford (11-13 overall) on the road Thursday.

Matt Bergstad and Drew Streightiff each had 13 points off the bench for the Vikings (18-7 overall).

“We got good production from our bench and this is the most we’ve gotten from the bench all year,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.

Hayfield and Medford will play again Monday in the first round of the Section 2AA South tournament. No. 6 seeded Medford will be at Hayfield at 7 p.m.

“We didn’t want to show them too much tonight, but we wanted to go in and send the message that we’re the better team,” Pack said.
